Paper Mill Playhouse is Hiring a Facilities Coordinator Near Millburn, NJ

Facilities Coordinator

Status: Full Time/Benefits Eligible/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Schedule: Typically, Wednesdays-Sundays 2:00-10:00 PM to coincide with event schedule. Work hours may vary and may include holidays, and other scheduled work periods, as necessary.

Position Overview
The Facilities Coordinator works to ensure the overall cleanliness, safety and maintenance of the venue and facilities while adhering to the organization's procedures, policies, safety codes and mission.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure the facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard, including full compliance with local/state codes and regulations.
  • Performs basic maintenance such as changing light bulbs, non-complex electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical repairs. Hanging outdoor banners, moving furniture, carpet cleaning, other odd jobs.
  • Operate and perform basic maintenance on equipment and power tools.
  • Operates power and hand tools.
  • Maintain grounds and parking lots including lawn cutting, planting, pruning, leaves/debris/snow removal and clean-up.
  • Perform custodial duties throughout theater and buildings including bathrooms, breakrooms, and public/office spaces.
  • Assist in maintaining stock and inventory of cleaning and custodial supplies.
  • Set-up and break-down of meeting rooms/special events including the moving furniture such as tables, chairs, lecterns, risers, etc.
  • Collaborate with various departments including event support staff and house management during shows.
  • Assist in special projects and other related duties/projects as assigned.

Qualifications/ Experience

  • Related work experience in a commercial property, professional theater setting, maintenance of building systems and grounds of a public venue.
  • Working knowledge of methods and practices of building maintenance including tools, equipment, etc.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proactive, positive attitude, strong work ethic, attention to detail and a sense of humor.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities in fast-paced and high-demand situations while remaining professional and customer-service oriented.
  • Work in a team environment as well as independently in order to complete assignments.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible work schedule, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $22 per hour

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to:

  • Stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; bend; stoop or kneel; crawl, climb, ascend and descend stairs and ladders; maintain equilibrium.

  • Work requires ability to and lift and carry up to 50lbs.
