Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to expectant mothers during one of the most important moments in their lives.
Duties:
- Monitor the health of expectant mothers and fetuses during labor
- Assist with the birthing process, including coaching mothers through delivery
- Administer medications and pain relief as needed
- Monitor postpartum mothers for any complications
- Educate new mothers on newborn care and breastfeeding techniques
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
Requirements:
- Valid RN license and BLS certification
- Previous experience in labor and delivery or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Ability to ventilate patients if necessary
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health records systems is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Workers compensation law knowledge
- Experience with esthetic laser treatment or cardiac catheterization
- Ability to conduct physical examinations
- Inpatient nursing experience
