MBS - Milestones Behavioral Services is Hiring a Behavior Specialist (Part-Time hours) Near Milford, CT

The Essential Functions of this position are:

  • Collect and record data on observable student behavior.
  • Assist Special Education Teacher and Behavior Analyst in maintaining up-to-date graphs via graphing software or other visual display.
  • Analyze and report trend on IEP objectives to Special Education Teacher and Behavior Analyst via appropriate protocols at established frequency.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of baseline, treatment, and generalization of skills across sessions for all areas of the students Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Provide direct student care following the prescribed Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
  • Assist Special Education Teacher and Behavior Analyst in the preparation of the school day (preparing student workspace, and classroom, obtaining required materials for the day, etc.).
  • Utilize safe and appropriate handling, management and guidance procedures when transporting or working with students.
  • Must implement all PMT techniques as necessary per certification standards and in line with organizational policy and maintain certification.
  • Maintain professionalism with students and staff.
  • Participate in school wide assigned trainings and seek out professional development opportunities.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Special Education Teacher or Behavior analyst.
  • Properly wear required PPE at all times, clean and maintain PPE daily and inform supervisor of needs to replace/repair PPE.
  • Must be able to administer in person or virtual assessments for students.
  • Must be able to participate in both on site and/or distance learning as required.

The minimum qualifications and requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. RBT credential preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in the implementation of behavioral assessment/treatment programs with the developmentally disabled population is highly preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a basic knowledge of computer systems and applicable software.
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and improve performance through constructive feedback.
  • Must be able to organize and manage time and manage multiple tasks.
  • Maintain effective communications and working relationships with other employees, students, and their families as well as the general public
  • Demonstrate professional behavior by adhering to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to adhere to the Principles and to the Mission of Milestones Behavioral Services
  • Required to properly wear PPE and attend all training sessions on PPE.
  • Required to follow all safety procedures and adhere to all requirements.
