Job Title: Surgery Tech

Job Location: Miles City, MT

Job Type: Contract

Job Duties:

• Assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
• Assembles, organizes, and completes case carts according to doctor’s preference lists.
• Provides appropriate instrumentation, suture, and all supplies as requested and maintains a sterile environment.
• May assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases.
• Counts sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy.
• Assists in maintenance and care of specimens and prepares for laboratory analysis.
• Handles specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps according to policy and standards.
• Assists with timely turnover of rooms, including clean up, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment.
• Cares for instruments and equipment.
• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and abides by service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Regular attendance during scheduled business hours or shifts is required.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends is necessary for identified positions.
• 1 year of OR scrubbing experience (Preferred).
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital (Preferred).
• May be required to float to other departments based on competency and qualifications.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduation from a formal, accredited surgical technologist program is required.
• Training in the US military may substitute for formal surgical technologist training.

Certificate/License:

• BLS - AHA

Schedule:

• Day/Night Shift
• 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours/Week
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $58.00 - $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 3x12
• Day shift
• Night shift
