SSM Health is Hiring a Paramedic (PRN) Near Midwest City, OK

SSM Health's St. Anthony Hospital is seeking a Paramedic to join our Team!

This is a PRN position. YOU have the flexibility and control over your schedule to pickup shifts (as you are able). We do offer Shift Differentials, enabling you to make more per hour by working with us as in this PRN position. *Get paid daily doing the work you love in a way that fits your life. This PRN position is working for St. Anthony Hospital in Midwest City. Prior experience is preferred, but not required. This role does require certification as a Paramedic in the State of Oklahoma, Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA), Drivers License and Record for Oklahoma.

Collaborates to provide exceptional care during the transport of acute or critically ill/injured patients. The team's care is guided by clinical assessment, critical thinking, established patient care guidelines and indirect medical control.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides emergency medical care for patients suffering from acute medical illness or traumatic injury.
  • Identifies and intervenes to stabilize based on department approved protocols, the ill or injured patient during prehospital, interfacility or intrafacility transport under the direction and in collaboration with the physician.
  • Maintains thorough patient care documentation according to the standard outlined by department including. but not limited to, forms for legal and billing purposes.
  • Inspects, operates, maintains and cares for emergency department/hospital equipment to ensure safety of the team, patients and public.
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment to receiving treatment team.
  • Demonstrates and maintains knowledge and skills necessary to care fo the patient groups of: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric.
  • Collaborates with other emergency response agencies.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • No experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling and running.
