The Principal Member of Technical Staff for the Network Service Assurance System Platform is to lead and develop a policy-driven self-serve platform. This platform is aimed at facilitating the surveillance of AT&T's diverse networks, including Optical, Ethernet, IP, Fiber Broadband, and Mobility networks, along with their related services.
Developing Network Management Systems: designing and developing systems that manage the network's health and performance. This involves creating tools and applications that can monitor, detect, and resolve network issues in real-time, ensuring minimal disruption to services. End-to-End Fault and Performance Management: comprehensive approach to fault management, from detection to resolution, and performance management, ensuring that the network operates at its optimal level. Technical and Analytical Skills: A strong foundation in system engineering and a deep understanding of telecommunications technologies are vital. The ability to analyze complex network scenarios and devise effective solutions is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the network. Leadership and Communication: guiding teams towards achieving strategic objectives. Effective communication involves coordinating with various stakeholders to achieve the organization goals and strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in an approved field with 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- 5 years of successful VoIP network engineering experience
- 5 experience in network management, specifically in designing and implementing fault and performance management solutions.
- 5 experience with different Cloud environments, including but not limited to MSFT Azure and Amazon AWS
- 5 experience with the use of a wide variety of testing systems and test equipment.
- 5 experience troubleshooting issues utilizing Wireshark or other packet capture and analysis tools.
- 5 experience with scripting languages and tools UNIX/LINUX/SHELL/PERL/EXPECT/Python and Ansible playbooks.
- Fundamental knowledge of IP routing/switching protocols and authentication.
- Expertise in network technologies (Optical, Ethernet, IP, etc.), system engineering principles, and analytical tools.

- Proficiency in Network protocol analysis
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.

- Ability to work independent of direct supervision.
- Strong, innovative team player, who works well under pressure and can apply critical and creative thinking to small and complex problems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across multiple teams.
- Knowledge of programming and scripting languages.
Our Principal Member of Technical Staff earn between $180,200 - $270,400. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
