JOB PURPOSE :

The primary role of the heavy equipment operator is to ensure the safe flow of material is maintained from the mine to the raw clay storage building.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Operator Equipment Smoothly, Safely and Efficiently and Follow Mining Plans
  • Accountable for managing ownership area ( Haul Truck Operators Haul Road Condition), ( Excavator Operators Pit Area around Excavator including spotting of Trucks), ( Dozer Operator Dump area)
  • Support and Move Safety Culture Forward by immediately reporting Hazards, Conducting Slams, Performing BBS Observations, Following safety Procedures and participating in Tail Gate Meetings.
  • Task Train and / or train co-workers on equipment.
  • Follow Environmental Policies including reporting / controlling spills, installing and maintaining BMP’s, Taking Water Samples as necessary, and treating low PH water.
  • In addition to the above, tasks and projects may be added on a temporary or permanent basis as deemed necessary by management.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

  • Minimum of high school education or equivalent
  • Previous training and certification on equipment a plus.
  • CDL license is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be willing to work all areas of mine department as needed.
  • Knowledge and operation of heavy equipment.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be willing to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy environment.
