Job Description:

Activities Assistant will be responsible for promotion of daily and on-going activities for residents that meet emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of residents.

Duties Include:

• Develop, organize and lead activities according to the planned schedule. Follow up to ensure all supplies and materials are available as needed for activities.
• Spend time with residents on a one-to-one basis.
• Carry-out the plan to take care of in-house pets and all equipment used.
• Assist with recognizing special celebrations of residents, including birthdays and anniversaries.
• Document activities and special events and evaluate each for future planning.
• Keep activity areas organized and supplies stocked appropriately.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of previous experience working with older adults.
• CNA license, preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills required.
• Dependable, cooperative, and highly motivated to work with and care for the elderly.
• Creative program planning skills.
• Special training in the needs of dementia and Alzheimer’s and willingness to continue with ongoing continuing education in dementia issues.

Schedule:

• • 64 hours per pay period, M-F with rotating weekends
