Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented andexperienced Medical Coder with a specialization in Orthopedics, Neurology, andPain Management to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possesscomprehensive knowledge of medical coding standards, healthcare billingprocesses, and the specific coding requirements for these specialties. TheMedical Coder will be responsible for accurately coding patient diagnoses,procedures, and medical services to ensure proper billing and compliance with healthcareregulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medical Coding:

·Accurately assign and sequence ICD-10-CM, CPT,and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and medical services related toorthopedics, neurology, and pain management.

·Review and analyze patient medical records anddocuments to ensure proper coding and billing.

2. Compliance and Accuracy:

·Ensure all coding is compliant with federalregulations, payer-specific guidelines, and industry standards.

·Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensurecoding accuracy and completeness.

·Stay up-to-date with changes in codingstandards, healthcare regulations, and payer requirements.

3. Billing and Documentation:

·Collaborate with billing staff to ensureaccurate and timely submission of claims.

·Resolve coding discrepancies and issues withinsurance companies and healthcare providers.

·Provide documentation and coding guidance tohealthcare providers to optimize reimbursement and minimize claim denials.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting:

·Analyze coding data to identify trends,discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

·Generate reports on coding accuracy, compliance,and financial performance.

5. Training and Education:

·Provide training and support to healthcareproviders and staff on coding practices and documentation requirements.

·Stay informed about continuing educationopportunities and attend relevant workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Qualifications:

·Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CertifiedCoding Specialist (CCS) certification required.

·Minimum of 3-5 years of medical codingexperience, with a focus on orthopedics, neurology, and pain management.

·Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codingsystems.

·Strong understanding of medical terminology,anatomy, and physiology related to orthopedics, neurology, and pain management.

·Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR)systems and medical billing software.

·Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·Effective communication and interpersonalskills.

·Ability to work independently and as part of ateam.

Preferred Skills:

·Experience with private insurance billing andcommercial insurance billing.

·Knowledge of payer-specific coding guidelinesand reimbursement policies.

·Understanding of healthcare revenue cyclemanagement.

·Experience in conducting coding audits andtraining sessions.

Job Type:Full-time Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
