Job Title: Commercial Underwriter
Job Location: Metairie, LA
Salary: 60-75k bonus, 401K
Requirements: 2 years of agency or underwriting experience in property and casualty insurance required. Property and Casualty license
We are an insurance company that offers property & casualty insurance through a large network of experienced independent agents. We are looking for an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our team. You are detail-oriented, have excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, and are also able to manage competing priorities.

What You Will Be Doing
Assist in developing programs, coverages, rates, forms, etc., working with system vendors as needed
Monitor and develop program information and content for web presence, working with vendors as needed
Support marketing activities to agents and actively participates in the agency management process.
Monitor performance criteria, including premium and unit count goals, mix of business, written-to-quoted ratio, and declination ratio of assigned agencies and territory
Provide mentoring and training to the underwriting team
What You Need for this Position
Property and Casualty license
Professional Insurance Designations such as CPCU, CIC, AAI are desired
2 years of experience underwriting for Commercial Property (LBO, habitational, retail space, etc.)
College degree preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lines products and the underwriting process and analytics involved
Producer license required in LA
