An Optical Technician is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by optometrists. They take into account patient's facial features, occupation, and habits to assist them in choosing the best eyeglass frames, lenses, and lens coatings to fit their needs, while also achieving monthly sales goals and excellent patient care.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
