RV Repair and Renovation is Hiring a Recreational Vehicle Technician Near Medford, MN

Job Description

This position is geared toward an experienced RV technician with a minimum 2 years verifiable experience or similar role for example: handy man, however willing to train in specialized area.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities can include, but not limited to:

  • Diagnose, modify, or repair slide-out systems.
  • Ability to follow schematic diagrams.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with RVs to identify the root cause of problems.
  • Examine non-working components, diagnose, test and repair with little input.
  • Repair and/or maintain plumbing, electrical, flooring, appliances, etc.
  • Repair or replace faulty components or parts, electrical systems, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure RVs are in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Test and adjust RV systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Exterior repairs including roof repairs/replacements, windows, slide-out maintenance, etc.
  • Track parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
  • Install/Upgrade accessories and components.
  • Perform pre-work inspections and document any areas of concern, including a complete diagnostic test for repair or replacement services to business owner.
  • Ensure that the final work product meets quality standards, and a pre-delivery inspection is conducted by the owner or quality control designee.
  • Ability to travel to onsite service locations if needed or as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and coworkers.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, materials, and hours performed on project.

Minimum Qualification:

· Certification from college or technical school in trade field (HVAC, 12/V and 110V Electrical, Plumbing, Maintenance, etc.) but we also consider applicable mechanical knowledge and work experience.

· In-depth systems diagnostics and critical thinking skills

· Carpentry and interior construction

· Air conditioner and furnace repair

· Electrical (110 and 12V) diagnostic and repair

· Plumbing and LP diagnostic and repair

· Understanding of the structural components of an RV, motorhome, or trailer

· Appliance diagnostic and repair

· Slide-out diagnostic and repair.

· Specialize in repairing appliances, and interior components.

· Ability to communicate in a professional manner.

· Ability to work under pressure.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· Candidates must be able to work independently and, in a team, environment.

· Ability to meet established goals and project task timelines.

· Ensure that the final work product meets quality standards.

· Maintain a safe and clean work area.

· Perform all necessary RV repairs according to industry standards.

· Must have a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualification

  • RVIA certification preferred but not required.
  • Specialize in repairing generators.

Physical Demands

Described below are representatives of those that must be met by a candidate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted and/or move up to 50 pounds with an assistive device.
  • Carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level, driving (vehicle, forklift), climbing and kneeling
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crawling, and bending.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to heights and hazards related to working on RV, Motor homes or trailers.
  • Environmental conditions include indoors, outdoor, heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust, and fumes.
  • Must provide personal tools.

Hours of Work This is a full-time position: 40 hours.

  • Weekdays and hours of work are Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Lunch break is 30 minutes daily with a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon.

PTO for full-time employees (40 hours)
