Job Description

Summary : Perform professional tree maintenance activities as directed by the Crew Leader by safely performing the following duties :

Duties and Responsibilities include the following :

• Other duties may be assigned.
• Performs thorough walk through with client to review job specification and drop scope.
• Conducts Visual tree assessment (VTA) from the ground.
• Inspects job site to identify obstacles, hazards and necessary equipment; coordinates with Crew Leader and Grounds Crew.
• Identifies plan of action; directs and communicates the crew on the scope job.
• Climbs trees, using climbing hooks and belts, or climb ladders to gain access to work areas, executing safe climbing techniques.
• Inspects trees to determine and assess diseases or pest problems.
• Prunes, trims, and shapes trees using ANZI standards and Arborist Code of Ethics.
• Safety falls tree according to industry and company standards.
• Operates tree service equipment to include chippers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers and various hand tools in accordance with approved operating requirements and safety procedures.
• Communicates with client throughout job and upon completion, using job checklist.
• Performs breakdown and clean-up duties at the work site.
• Operates company vehicles in safe and courteous manner and in accordance with safety policy manual.
• Reports all accidents / damage / malfunctions to management immediately.*
• Ensures trucks and equipment are secured while on job sites.

Essential Function :

• Wears appropriate clothing and safety equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
• Communicates and reports any account problems or customer complaints, including damage to customer property, to the supervisor and / or owner immediately.
• Follows daily work instructions in an efficient manner.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Attends company and safety meetings as required.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
• Assists with training and development of other team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education / Experience :

6 months prior climbing experience. Arborist certification preferred.

• Basic Computer Skills Ability to lift up 75 lbs.

Math Ability :

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates and Licenses :

Valid Driver's License.
