Youth Career Coach
The Youth Career Coach position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills are necessary. This position is very detail-oriented and requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Youth Career Coach will work with a diverse population, including youth with barriers to employment. The individual must have computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office programs. This position requires daytime travel throughout the ten-county area supported by the TENCO Workforce Development Board (Bath, Boyd, Bracken, Fleming, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, Montgomery, Robertson, and Rowan). This is a two-year grant funded position with the opportunity for additional years pending successful performance.
Location: Kentucky Career Center – Maysville will be the main office location. Space will also be available in the Morehead and Ashland Center as needed.
Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Youth recruitment for participation. 
  • Inform secondary school personnel and partners about the program.
  • Approve eligible youth for program enrollment.
  • Coordinate with other agencies and programs for holistic services. 
  • Analyze program data including contract and participant performance. 
  • Develop and/or facilitate employability skills and career guidance workshops.
  • Establish work-based learning opportunities for youth.
  • Develop training plans and oversee scholarship funds for youth interested in short-term training.
  • Oversee programmatic and fiscal components.
  • Establish opportunities, such as mentoring, for youth to explore careers. 
  • Maintain confidential records.
  • Participate in local school functions, Business Service activities, and community events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Educational Level:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Social Services or related field is preferred. Associate’s degree may be considered with related experience.
