Summary :

Responsible for preparing and serving drinks and food.

to guests, making recommendations regarding drink specials / daily features in a prompt and professional hospitable manner.

Cooking required Weekend availability is mandatory.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Promptly and professionally serve guests beverages and food (if applicable) orders ensuring quality and accuracy.

Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled by the Restaurant Manager.

Verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.

Dispense alcohol by State regulations.

Attempt to eliminate problems and liability related to guests' excessive drinking by taking steps such as limiting alcohol served and / or stopping serving.

Provide means of ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated guests.

Responsible for keeping bar, tables, and eating areas clean and set to the hotel and restaurant standards.

Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work area.

Greet and acknowledge guests immediately with a standard greeting.

Responsible for knowledge of food and beverage offerings.

Rotate all stock (beer, pop, wine, liquor, etc.) and put it away at end of shift.

Communicate with the kitchen when items are low and need order.

Responsible for submitting correct ticket orders to the kitchen if food orders are present in the bar area through the Point of Sale system.

Perform and complete all daily opening and closing checklists.

Responsible for communicating with management regarding customer satisfaction, feedback and beverage counts.

Ensure all products are stored and secured property at all times.

Keep menus / table tents clean, organized, updated, and presentable.

Ensure all billing is calculated correctly upon presenting the guest check.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

OTHER :

Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules and holidays to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with all rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.

Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Education Requirements :

Entry-level position that requires no formal training, learning many work-related skills on the job.

Foodservice certification is a plus.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements :

Frequent lifting with a considerable amount of bending and stooping.

Physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, bending, stooping, touching, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, holding.

Considerable hand and finger dexterity to lift and grasp objects such as silverware, china, miscellaneous supplies, utensils, etc.

May require continued repetitive bending and stooping.

Working with warming ovens, kitchen utensils.

Requires high levels of contact with all types of people.

Interacting with people to a high degree relates to the attending of needs or requests of people or the expressed or implied wishes of people.

Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
