Horner Shifrin is Hiring a Programmer Analyst (Marion, IL & St. Louis, MO) Near Marion, IL

Horner & Shifrin is seeking an Entry Level Programmer Analyst to work in our Information Technology Business Unit.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Technical Support: Provide support in resolving technical issues, both hardware and software, to ensure seamless IT operations.
  • Software Development: Assist in designing, coding, testing, and debugging software applications to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Programming Languages and Tools: Learn and apply programming languages, frameworks, and tools relevant to our projects.
  • Best Practices: Implement software development best practices, methodologies, and tools.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance skills and contribute to team goals.
  • IT Infrastructure: Assist in maintaining and monitoring the IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Special Projects: Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the VP, IT Director.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and other common desktop applications.
  • Programming Experience: Previous programming experience or personal projects. Python, Copilot, Studio, or other AI experience or personal projects a plus
  • Creativity: A creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.
  • Sense of Urgency: Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Occasional travel between offices
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must complete a background check

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Preferred, but not required.

SALARY RANGE:

Salary will be commensurate with experience
