Hoxton Circle has partnered with a local Salinas area award winning client in the building industry, looking for a Controller to lead their Finance and Accounting operations team. The role will incorporate additional duties like some admin, HR, etc., and the client is wanting a contract to permanent route for the job to ensure a good fit for both client/candidate. Medical benefits & 401K available while on a contracted/interim status before becoming permanent with the client. The job is 5-days onsite. 

Job duties:

• Manage and streamline finance operations in accounts receivable, payables, general ledger entries.
• Analyze and suggest streamlined options to improve accounting procedures and internal controls
• Audit workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions and entries are accurate and in compliance with industry control and policies.
• Oversee and mentor the rest of the accounting staff.
• Monitor and maintain system controls over accounting transactions. 
• Create and implement a documented system of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
• Create and manage the annual budget and forecasting analysis.
• Lead the month end, quarter-end and year-end close and produce the monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
•  HR Management, and assist with payroll processing and overseeing prevailing wage.
• Some IT and Property management duties as needed. 

Requirements:

• 8-10 years experience in managerial accounting. 
• BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Proficiency in Sage and Timberline software highly preferred. 
• MBA in Accounting or Finance preferred. 
• Experience in the building/construction industry desired.
