THE JOB: Technicians are responsible for performing work including invasive species control, planting, erosion control, grading, equipment operation, general yard/equipment cleaning, and prescribed burns. Bluestem provides on-the-job training, certification, and continued education.

· $18-22 /HR

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
No Experience Necessary, Bluestem will train you!
· Ability to work within a team setting & follow direction.
· Attention to detail and ability to learn new plant ID.
· Interest in learning new land management information and techniques such as equipment operation or specific control methods by species.
· High School degree or equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Understanding of basic ecological restoration techniques & basic Midwest plant knowledge, including through volunteer experience
· Illinois Pesticide Applicator/Operator License
· Knowledge of equipment operation/maintenance (small engines, pumps, tractors/mowers)
· Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
· Ability to lift 50lbs, bend & stoop on a continual basis, and walk long distances.
· Ability to safely work with and near EPA approved herbicides
