Maple Grove Primary Care is looking for an individual to fulfill an exciting role as a dual role LPN working in our injection room and on the floor as a Clinical Support Staff (CSS)! As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively alongside clinicians to identify issues, guide patients, and solve problems. Our CSS are the first clinical individual that our patient's work with and are responsible for a variety of direct patient care tasks such as gathering and documenting vitals, assisting in procedures, administering vaccines, and more.
In addition to regular duties, this role involves weekly shifts in our injection room, where responsibilities include administering allergy treatments, biologics, and immunizations. Injection room nurses also conduct blood pressure and weight checks for patients and engage in outreach to those identified with gaps in preventative or chronic care management.
Our CSS team members have a very consistent schedule weekly and our goal is to have the CSS working alongside a set provider, although it is extremely important to be flexible as changes can happen day to day due to PTO, sick calls, or other unforeseen situations. Maple Grove has a well-established team with many CSS team members having worked her more than 15 years. As the clinic continues to grow, and more providers are added to our team, we continue to search for the best quality applicants to join our team. Position Summary:
As a part of our team, you will be providing care for patients which may include the following duties:
· Escorting patients to exam rooms and appropriately documenting necessary visit information and vitals such as height, weight, and blood pressure.
· Preparing and administering medications, and immunizations as directed by a clinician, RN or following standing orders.
· Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, such as administering, ear lavage, EKG’s, and bladder scans.
· Ensuring all the components are of the standard rooming process are completed including medication reconciliation and pending refills, allergy review, immunization reconciliation, completion of appropriate forms and questionnaires to support clinical quality.
· Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures, and standards.
Required Qualifications:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing. Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable. One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
OR
Medical Assistant (MA): Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by “The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable. One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
OR
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): High school diploma or GED and current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
- Must meet one of the following:
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years pharmacy technician experience OR
- Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current Minnesota EMT License
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more years of healthcare experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
