This position is in our Maple Grove, MN office.

If you have an interest in actuarial and data science and are looking to dive into insurance product pricing, statistics, and predictive modeling, ProAg has an exciting opportunity for an Actuarial Analyst Assistant in our Maple Grove, MN office.
You will primarily be responsible for leading and/or supporting strategic actuarial initiatives, including data and analytics support and the creation of actuarial pricing models. Relying on your knowledge and broad experience, you will develop predictive models to solve business problems by interpreting and communicating the model results to business partners.

In this Exciting Opportunity You Will:

  • Insurance product pricing: Apply actuarial and statistical modeling methodologies to evaluate the adequacy of crop and livestock insurance product rates.
  • Data & analytics support: assist indata scrubbing and model development for reinsurance decision-making and rating bureau data submissions.
  • Drive ProAg’s business plan/strategy: partner with business intelligence, underwriting, and marketing groups to communicate actuarial findings and influence decision-making in alignment with ProAg’s business strategy.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Ag Economics, or related degree.
  • Up to two years year of relevant and progressive professional experience.
  • Up to three passed Actuarial exams.
  • Proficiency in programming languages R/Python/SQL
  • PC skills, Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Understanding of databases and data extraction
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Should be able to present to business or technical partners. Ability to effectively present recommendations and supporting analysis to business partners.
