Mankato Screw Products has an immediate opening for a materials Buyer. We are a fast-paced job shop that machines parts used in several industries.

Hours: Monday – Friday 7am – 4:30pm

Job Functions:

The primary function of the Buyer position is to purchase raw materials to support machining operations, to achieve on time delivery, in the most cost-effective manner.

· Place purchase orders with vendors to ensure proper supply of materials to meet company needs

· Communicate with suppliers as needed regarding supply needs, shortages, pricing, and invoicing

· Review job schedule daily to ensure the appropriate material and quantity is in stock prior to production

· Maintain inventory records

· Maintain customer ship log, ensuring product ships on the correct date and invoicing the customer

· The Buyer may be asked to assist in daily administrative duties including but not limited to: answering phone calls, sending emails, maintaining contact lists, greeting visitors, etc.

Experience/Skills

· 2-5 years of experience purchasing metals in manufacturing environment

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel Knowledge
