Masis Professional Group is Hiring a Safety Officer Near Manchester, NH

Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
  2. Risk Assessment: Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  3. Safety Training: Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees and subcontractors, including orientation sessions for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff.
  4. Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
  5. Safety Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible as required by regulations.
  6. Safety Meetings: Coordinate and facilitate regular safety meetings with project teams to discuss safety concerns, updates, and best practices.
  7. Safety Equipment: Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and proper use of safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
  8. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation protocols and first-aid procedures.
  9. Communication: Act as a liaison between management, project teams, and regulatory agencies on safety-related matters, ensuring clear and effective communication channels.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to construction safety, and recommend improvements to existing safety programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in construction safety management or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate employees.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Physical ability to conduct site inspections and lift/move safety equipment as needed.
