Job DescriptionPosition Overview:The Financial Analyst role will support the Beverage Business Unit FP&A team by performing various timely and accurate forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, and other financial analysis as necessary to drive profitability and growth. The role will prepare reports, analyze business performance and maintain financial system integrity to enable well-informed decision making.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
- Maintain and monitor key inputs to the forecasting database such as sales margin, product pricing changes, inventory-related fixed cost adjustments and COGS variables.
- Assist with preparation of accurate and timely analysis and reporting for monthly/quarterly business reviews with an emphasis on income statement, safety, receivables and quality performance.
- Prepare and distribute sales volume flash report to key commercial stakeholders to introduce actual results and measure against forecast/budget.
- Work directly with various teams within the Business Unit such as Commercial, Shared Services, and Marketing to obtain key information essential to planning and analysis.
- Assist in controlling SG&A spend by maintaining a tracking file on trending spend versus budget.
- Provide support and analysis in the development of the annual budget.
- Play a key role in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare data and reporting needed to drive creation of a 5-year Strategic Plan.
- Provide ad hoc support to internal customers as needed to provide insightful and actionable reporting and analysis.
- Utilize various tools (Sales Margin database, Salesforce, BPC, and SAP) for research, analysis and data mining.
- Provide support to manufacturing facilities on selected issues.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting/finance roles in a manufacturing environment
- Strong systems skills/aptitude (Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems)
- Strong work ethic with ability to leverage others and work in a cross functional environment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to summarize and explain detailed data to non-Finance co-workers
- Solid understanding of accounting concepts and transactional flow
