Description

As a Content Manager, you will help tell our brand story and product positioning through a variety of channels. This person will translate complex scientific information into compelling messages, and function as the lead writer for their assigned product areas. The Content Manager plays a crucial role in building and maintaining a strong online presence, driving audience engagement, and contributing to the overall success of the organization's content marketing efforts. In addition, the Content Manager acts as a subject matter expert in content creation best practices, offering strategic direction to other content creators and teams to ensure alignment with content strategy, brand guidelines, and messaging. This person will have strong writing and creative skills, a keen understanding of digital marketing, and the ability to adapt to changing trends and audience preferences.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Content Strategist in developing distribution plans to effectively share content across different channels, including websites, social media, email, and other relevant platforms. 
  • Researches content trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation. 
  • Manages relationships with external content vendors, advising on brand voice and tone and ensuring alignment with content strategy. 
  • Conducts content audits and gap analyses to inform content optimization and development. 
  • Identifies and rectifies content workflow inefficiencies to enhance the team’s productivity and collaboration. 
  • Leads content curation on sales enablement platforms and websites, ensuring optimal placement and categorization. 
  • Monitors overall content performance using analytics tools, providing insights and recommendations to marketing teams for content strategy within their campaigns.
  • Collaborates with Content Strategist to define goals, KPIs, and success metrics for measuring content performance.
  • Creates persuasive, engaging, and on-brand copy for various advertising materials, including landing pages, social posts, digital ads, email, headline copy and short-form content.
  • Collaborates with Technical Writers who develop product brochures, webinars and application notes.
  • Collaborates with marketing, design, and product teams to understand project requirements and deliver content that meets their objectives.
  • Facilitates and participates in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative content ideas that connect with an audience.
  • Guides the development and implementation of content strategies that align with overall marketing and business objectives.
  • Incorporates search engine optimization (SEO) best practices into content creation to improve visibility in search engine results.
  • Understands the target audience’s preferences, needs, and behaviors. Develops content that resonates with the audience and addresses their pain points.
  • Continuously optimizes and updates existing content to keep it relevant and valuable.
  • Identifies opportunities to repurpose content for different platforms and formats.
  • Ensures the quality and accuracy of content by reviewing and editing written material.
  • Proofreads content to identify and correct errors.
  • Conducts interviews with key opinion leaders to create impactful thought leadership content.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5 years of experience in content development, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of written content. Desirable: Experience within the life sciences sector.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style.
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box to craft engaging and persuasive content.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and familiarity with SEO principles.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work with multiple stakeholders who are globally dispersed and build good working relationships and navigate conflict.
  • Adaptable to change and able to pivot to accommodate changes in the market and business landscape.
