West Medford Dog Walking is Hiring an Office Manager Near Medford, MA

Office Manager & Dog Walker

Pay: $27 per hour

Hours: M-F 10am-3pm (25 hours per week)

Location: Hybrid remote and in the field

Job Description: West Medford (WeMe) Dog Walking is hiring an Office Manager that will fill in for walkers as needed. This is a brand new role here at WeMe Dog Walking and we are looking for someone who is technologically savvy and business minded but also can’t imagine sitting behind a desk all day everyday! The ideal Office Manager/Dog Walker is organized and systematic, has some experience managing the books for a small company (preferred), and most importantly, absolutely adores dogs and being outside!

Approximately 65% of time would be spent working from home and 35% in the field, varying from week to week.

Responsibilities of Office Manager:

  • Owner of our scheduling platform:
  • Manage the daily schedule of all walkers (ie. assign and adjust walkers based on groups, routes, and customer/business needs)
  • Keep all client profiles up to date with current information and vet records
  • Communicate with pet owners about any schedule changes or special requests
  • Help with basic accounting/bookkeeping:
  • QuickBooks owner
  • Biweekly payroll for small staff
  • Expense tracking
  • Weekly customer billing
  • Be available for any time sensitive questions from walkers or customers throughout the day
  • Support with marketing, advertising, and Instagram
  • Manage the company inbox and phone

Responsibilities on an average day as a Dog Walker:

  • Review daily schedule and instructions
  • Pick up and drop off dogs on time
  • Transport dogs to hiking or walking area
  • Leash dogs and calmly engage the group or pup to ensure their focus is on the handler
  • Hike/walk, and enjoy the adventure while maintaining safety and engagement for all pups
  • Pick up poop along the way
  • Ensure all dogs are provided water
  • Wipe off paws and bellies
  • Return the pups back home, following any instructions from the owners
  • Provide any necessary updates or pictures

Requirements:

  • Lover of all dogs
  • Possess a high level of comfort interacting with dogs individually and in groups
  • Love of the outdoors (even when it’s a not so beautiful day)
  • Experience working with dogs is a plus, but not required. We will train the right candidate!
  • Experience with basic accounting/bookkeeping is a plus, but not required
  • Pass a background check
  • Have reliable access to and use of a vehicle to transport dogs
  • Clean driving record

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No nights
  • No weekends
