Citizen Advocates is Hiring a DIRECTOR OF SUPPORT SERVICES Near Malone, NY

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Network Facilities, the Director of Facilities, Transportation, Clean Sweep, and Capital Project is responsible for the overall operation of agency Facilities, Transportation, Clean Sweep, and Capital Project and is to plan, organize, direct, schedule, and participate in the maintenance and operations of facilities and transportation services, including the custodial, grounds keeping, and general maintenance operations of all facilities and vehicles. Direct and provide technical guidance to assigned staff; assist as safety officer; assist as security director; and as emergency preparedness assistant coordinator.
Administrative FunctionsEssential Functions (Job Duties)
  • Have accountability and authority for the oversight, function, and safety of all the corporation's owned, leased, or rented real estate and physical properties including HVAC, electrical, fire systems, water, sewer, transportation, and other physical assets.
  • Assist with real estate transactions as deemed necessary by your supervisor.
  • Oversee safety and security practices for the corporation, including taking appropriate safety and/or security actions when a hazardous condition exists without the immediate approval of the Administration or the Board of Directors.
  • Assist with the planning, development, organization, and oversight of all renovations and new construction projects.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations as necessary on energy consumption and uses throughout the corporation.
  • Assist with managing all grants, expenditures, contacts, and vendors related to transportation, buildings, and grounds.
Summary Of Essential Job Functions
  • Plan, organize, design, and manage the buildings and grounds within the scope of agency needs and changing regulatory/fiscal needs.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of motor vehicles & transportation services
  • Assist with Project Management.
  • Assist with Construction Management.
  • Assist with Contract and lease management.
  • Risk Management assessments.
  • Safety Committee Chairperson.
  • Fire and Building Code oversight.
  • Assist with technical oversight for emergency preparedness.
  • Systems development for work orders and logging of pertinent information.
  • Monitor and control HVAC systems and energy consumption.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and fiscal management.
  • Monitor compliance with budget.
  • Oversee personnel functions within the department.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all aspects of departmental operation.
  • Ensure that all operations have adequate resources to conduct their work.
  • Ensure optimal inter-program communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure that the department operates in accordance with agency policy.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships in the community.
  • Supervise department Managers and Supervisors.
  • Representing the agency on various internal and external teams, committees, and with trade associations.
  • Assists the agency in legal matters when appropriate or directed.
  • Special Projects as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time time position.
  • Workweek schedule: The position is primarily Monday through Friday; however, if emergencies arise on the weekend or evenings, a call is required.
  • Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company needs and workload. Advance notice will be given as much as possible when such changes occur.
Travel
Daily travel required to local offices and project locations. Travel is required for meetings very often. Travel could be required to any agency location 24/7 for emergencies.
Required Education And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in management, engineering, architecture, industrial management, construction management, or a related field and four years’ experience in HVAC, mechanical maintenance, facilities management, carpentry, or a related field; or an associate degree and six years of experience; or ten years of experience. Two years of increasingly responsible experience in facilities management or a related field is preferred.
