JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: ETM Technician

Reports To: ETM Group Leader

Job Summary: Performs electrical apparatus work onsite at customer's facilities. This includes electrical testing, preventative maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs to electrical apparatus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment utilized in power transmission, distribution, and generation
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Substation control wiring
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace and clean all components in a substation
• Able to assist in testing all types of high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment

• Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment
• Participates in safety meetings and training

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Familiar with industry standards such as NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA compliance standards, safety laws, and DOT regulations
• Ability to assist in complex mechanical and electrical problems
• Must have strong PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office
• Doble DTAF and PowerDB knowledge is preferred, training will be provided
• Must be willing and able to work regular overtime, including nights, weekends, and some holidays
• Must be willing and capable of working with your hands and working in the field

Work Environment:

• Must be willing to take emergency calls outside of the normal workday

• Must be able to work overtime; including nights, weekends, and some holidays

• Must be willing and able to travel on overnight, multi-day, out-of-town jobs

• Work hours vary from project to project
• Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.

Education and Work Experience:

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED, bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or Military experience is preferred but not required
• NETA or NICET certified a plus, but not required
• Electrical substation experience is preferred, but not always required
