The Landscaping Technician II is responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds of Liberty University. The landscape laborer performs a variety of landscape activities, such as planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, general lawn maintenance, and seasonal lawn preparation. The Landscape Technician II may also operate lawn movers and related equipment and will assist Facilities maintenance staff on assigned projects and other duties as assigned. Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion.
As Essential personnel you are expected to be available in the ever school closings, delays, shutdowns, and any emergencies including severe weather incidents.
Performs snow removal activities as assigned, such as shoveling, salting etc.
Reports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.
Responsible for wearing appropriate PPE, eye wear, hard had, gloves, steel toed boots, etc.
Performs planting and related activities
Provides seasonal lawn care, such as spring and fall clean-up
Hauls or spreads topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials
Operates light/heavy-duty vehicles, riding mowers, backhoes, and riding movers, rakes, shovels, blowers, sprayers, chain saws, hydraulic small tools and any other equipment associated with turf care
Works closely with the entire Landscaping/Grounds teams on all ground maintenance including weeding, mulching, and all other related tasks
Works with Landscaping/Grounds team, as assigned when needed to support new plantings, plant removals and/or case issues with specialized plants.
