Essential DutiesCarpenter
- Operate saws, hammers, drills and other power tools as required.
- Position, join, align, and set stick built or manufactured form systems.
- Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; and mix, pour, and spread concrete.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
- Ability to use all tools associated with carpentry work (Tape Measure, hammer, square, level etc.) to stick build formwork and falsework.
- Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
- Load, unload building materials, machinery, and tools.
- Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
- Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old
- Candidate must have experience in constructing form-work for concrete construction.
- Must be able to disseminate detailed instructions.
- Previous bridge construction experience a plus.
- Candidate must have reliable transportation to the job site.
- Job may require some overnight travel.
- Candidate must be willing to work nights and/or weekends if needed.
- Must have a good work ethic and attendance.
- Must not be frighten of heights or working near or over water.
Physical ActivityPosition requires the ability to continuously work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment is normally required of the position. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
