Stephen Joseph Companies is Hiring a Procurement Associate Near Lubbock, TX
Objectives to this Role:We are seeking a highly motivated Procurement Associate to join our team. The Procurement Associate is responsible for the procurement of products from purchase order creation to delivery at our local warehouse, communicating with vendors/maintaining vendor relations, and ensuring that everything related to the purchase/receipt of goods moves through the process smoothly for Stephen Joseph, Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement and inventory management, as well as strong organizational and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the procurement of goods and services for the organization
- Create and place purchase orders
- Review inspection reports throughout the production process
- Communicate and follow up with vendors around purchase orders placed
- Manage inventory levels and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Assist with the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures
- Assist the procurement team overall with research to identify potential vendors and suppliers
- Track and report on procurement and inventory metrics
- Assist with the resolution of procurement and inventory issues
- Organization and coordination of logistics related to importing products from suppliers
- Negotiate vendor cost to meet target margin for each division
- Negotiate minimum order quantities and product lead time with suppliers
- Assist the sales team with coordination of custom projects
- Negotiate ocean and air freight rates as needed for purchase orders
- Work with product development to provide support as needed during the sourcing process
- Oversee in-line and custom product purchase orders from placement and production to point of delivery and invoice
- Work with warehouse inbound team to schedule deliveries
- Work with the warehouse inbound team on reviewing pack slips and count sheets for received product
- Maintain logistics updates on various internal platforms
- Coordinate customs clearances as needed
- Support procurement team as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Prior work experience in procurement, preferably at least 2 years in supply chain management or in purchasing/procurement
