As a Buyer/Planner II, you'll be using your skills and expertise to purchase materials, supplies, and services on the most favorable terms for the organization. You'll be responsible for qualifying our suppliers, monitoring and ensuring our supplier quality and delivery, evaluating bids, negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services, tracking purchases, and maintaining a current database of our supplier information. Additionally, you'll work on complex procurements of significant dollar value, as well as manage multiple service type contracts. Must-haves: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically three (3) or more years of relevant experience; higher education may substitute for relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education. Supply chain or logistics experience. Preferred: Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance Basic accounting skills Procurement The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements: Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes. Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.
