The UNM-Valencia Upward Bound Program is seeking an On-CallCounselor/Social Worker. This is a grant-funded, ten-hour weekly position withcurrent available funding through 08/31/2024.

The Counselor Social Worker will work as a team member with other programstaff, responsible for providing personal, academic, and career counseling for55 high school students in this college preparatory program. The candidate willprovide individual and group counseling with emphasis on skill building thatwill facilitate student success in their pre-college performance and ultimatelyin their higher education pursuits. The position will provide workshops thatfocus on the topics of academic and personal goals setting, time management,study skills, substance abuse prevention, communication skills, social skills,substance abuse prevention, and communication skills. The Counselor will alsocomplete individual education/success plans and updates with each of thestudents.
