Your Opportunity:

As a full-time accelerator technician for TechSource, you will provide support to a new National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) flash X-ray radiography capability. This radiography capability is a multi-pulse linear induction accelerator, nicknamed Scorpius. You will assist support technicians with the maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of the shops. You will support packaging, shipping, and inventory for the team.

Full-time onsite work in Los Alamos, NM is required for this role (4/10 or 5/8 work schedule).

What You Will Do:

• Assist support technicians with the maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of shops.
• Support packaging and shipping of items to other sites.
• Support inventory control team and project staff.
• Retrieving items from other warehouses or offices.
• Support assembly and testing of other accelerator components.

What You Will Need:

• 3 or more years of machine shop experience. [NR1]
• Ability to follow direction provided by lead engineers and senior technicians.
• Ability to follow written directions and procedures.
• Familiarity with basic tools, Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and lifting & rigging equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to move, walk, and work easily in assembly and test environments.
• Ability to work in a safe manner and follow all site safety requirements.
• US Citizenship necessary for role.
• Must be able to complete required training within first 3 months in position.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred skills:

• Forklift certification.
• Overhead crane certification/experience.
• Familiarity with large machine shop tools such as lathes, presses, saws, grinders, CNC, and such.
• Welding, mechanic, or machine shop experience.
• Electrical component assembly and testing experience.
