QUALIFICATIONS

1 A High School Diploma/GED

2 Age Twenty-five (25) or older and must be able to pass a motor carrier physical examination.

3 A current Arkansas Driver's license with Passenger Endorsement and/or CDL, & driving record approved by the BBDCS's insurance carrier.

4 One year experience in working with developmentally disabled people.

5 Satisfactorily pass drug screens, criminal background checks, Adult & Child Maltreatment & FBI checks, requirements of BBDCS and Licensing Specialist.

ESSENTIALS JOB DUTIES AND RESPONISIBLITIES

1 Directly supervises all bus drivers and riders for two locations. Supervises the scheduling of leave time for drivers and ensuring sub drivers are secured and bus routes are sufficiently covered. Hire any needed staff to cover transportation program. Fills in as sub driver/rider when necessary.

2 Evaluates job performances of bus drivers, sub-drivers riders, and Aides in November of each year and sets measureable goals.

3 Supervises and assists loading and unloading of all consumers. Oversees program check to ensure all consumers have been unloaded from A.M. buses and loaded for P.M. buses. NOTE; All drivers are the final check to ensure no consumer if left on a bus.

4 Oversees routine daily checks of buses such as general cleaning of the buses, gassing buses, washing outside and washing inside floors, and speaking with a driver if bus is found in unkept condition. Maintains a maintenance schedule and repair log. Reports all actual or suspected bus malfunctions to the Support Services Coordinator. Arranges for all maintenance and repair work to be completed.

5 Works closely with Directors of Program Services to maintain and update all paperwork for Lonoke bus routes, i.e. assigning consumers to a bus, discussing estimated pick-up and drop-off times with parents, bus notebooks, daily bus logs, social contact sheets, transportation agreements, bus directions, route changes, etc., for each consumer. Reviews billing before submission weekly and reviews bus notebooks monthly.

6 Maintains and submits to Executive Director correct monthly, quarterly and yearly reports, i.e., FTA, Cost Reporting, DDS reports etc.

7 Is familiar with and understands established bus regulations. Makes every effort to see that these regulations are adhered to by all transportation coordinators, drivers, and sub-drivers.

8 Works closely with Directors of Children's & Adult Services and the bus driver to carries out plans for consumer discipline and reinforcement.

9 Schedule new hire training to cover the Transportation Handbook and specific bus driver and rider training for new drivers/riders. Work with Training Coordinator and Asst. Trans. coord. to select appropriate training topics for drivers and riders to maintain annual required training hours.

10 Adhere to BBDCS's HIPAA Policy regarding privacy and security of protected health information (PHI)

11 ALL OTHER ASSIGNED DUTIES
