Requirements:

• Have a thorough understanding of our scope, schedule, budget and quality control requirements of assigned projects.
• Has input on how we will perform the work including: site-specific safety; means and methods; pre-fabrication plan; development of man loaded schedules; releasing and staging material.
• Insures that assigned foremen generate bulk material requisitions timely that include specific release dates, packing requirements and separate ship to addresses as required by the project.
• Work with assigned foremen to plan and supervise trade activities to maintain project schedule and stay within budgeted man-hours.
• Provides regular feedback to foremen on hours spent vs budget. Works with Trade Managers and Foremen to address labor performance deficiencies to include: safety; quality; production; and maintenance of schedule.
• Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel; accurately document changes in work scope.
• Prepare time and material estimates for directed contract changes.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with project and company safety requirements. Document and ensure corrective safety measures are implemented. Eliminate construction and job site hazards as they are recognized to reduce safety incidents and their severity.
• Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance with project documents, Code and CES quality standards.
• Evaluate and document the work performance of assigned personnel.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of timesheets for assigned personnel.
• Trains and supervises lead foremen, foremen, mechanics, and helpers on company policies, safety practices, regulations and installation procedures.
• Report workers' compensation injuries to Safety Manager and Human Resources immediately.
• Conform to all applicable CES Policies and Procedures.
• Perform additional assignments per the direction of the Trade Managers and Project Managers
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• Work within industry standards of accuracy and possess a mechanical aptitude.
• Have good oral and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply the project plans and specifications, and the manufacturers' installation instructions and clearly communicate with customers, suppliers, other CES employees, and other trades.
• The ability to motivate workers and communicate with them is essential. A Superintendent must lead by example.
• Demonstrate an interest and initiative in improving his skills through a combination of self-study, company training, manufacturers' workshops, and other professional development activities.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to control and supervise large groups essential.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels.
• Have the ability to direct, organize and supervise work efficiently, given time pressures, non-standard schedule, extreme weather conditions indicative to job site location, varying customer needs, and demands, and backlog constraints. Have the ability to accurately evaluate and document the skills and abilities of assigned personnel.
• Proficient in using the internet to research information as well as Intermediate or above skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and CM software platforms like Autodesk Build, Procore and BIM 360.
• Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs, and backlog constraints
• Possess good vision (either naturally or with correction).
• Individuals must wear safety glasses as required while performing certain tasks
• Must be able to climb, balance on ladders and stand for long periods at a time
• Must not have fear of heights (Acrophobia)

Non-Essential Duties

• Participation in Industry events with organizations such as P.I.P.E, ABC, ACT and others.
• Use self-initiative to remain current with industry trends (engage in webinars, virtual conferences, educational reading, etc.)
• Accept and perform other work as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Will be responsible for the supervision of foremen, tradesmen and subcontractors.

Education, Experience and Certification

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and graduate of a post-secondary program of instruction of two or more years in duration or completion of an apprenticeship program or similar training program required.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial Sheet Metal duct trade supervision experience.
• Knowledgeable and can quickly access Florida Mechanical Code, Florida Building Code and SMACNA standards.
• OSHA 30 certification, First Aid, CPR, and other relevant safety certifications.
