Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Company: TPIRC
Location: Long Beach, CA
Hours: Full Time Hourly; Monday through Friday; Averaging 30-40 hours per week. Start time will be anywhere from 7AM-10AM depending on patient volume.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform pediatric blood draws for our diagnostic laboratory. This position will also assist in sample processing, ensure proper levels of department supplies, perform accurate record-keeping and provide an exceptional patient experience to all who visit Foundation Labs.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Performs routine pediatric phlebotomy
  • Creates patient requisitions in the Laboratory Information System
  • Logs, labels, and processes specimens and paperwork for testing.
  • Orders, unpacks, logs and stores supplies.
  • Transcription and data entry.
  • Promptly and courteously answer phones and take accurate messages when needed. Maintains the confidentiality of client information.
  • Helps to ensure draw stations and laboratory areas are neat and clean.
  • Uses and wears protective equipment and clothing as appropriate. Incumbent is responsible for becoming familiar with and following all safety procedures. Properly reports all incidents.
  • Maintains cooperative working relationships.
  • Demonstrates effective two-way communication to create an informed positive environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative in making suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity and provides consistent feedback.
  • Organizes and processes clinical specimens accurately. Identifies worksheet, computer and specimen problems and demonstrates ability to either resolve or elevate to licensed personnel appropriately.
  • Supports non-technical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid California State Phlebotomist License or State approved equivalent required.
  • Minimum two (2) years pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: word processing skills using Windows based software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Typing skills desirable.
