Job Description

We are seeking a Chief Digital Officer to oversee all aspects of Lakeshore’s E-Commerce team, including P&L ownership, digital marketing, UX design, web products and app development—with a dotted line to site merchandising. The role will spearhead the growth of Lakeshore’s e-commerce business with a focus on leveraging digital marketing and growth marketing techniques to drive both direct and institutional sales. Applicants should have 10 years of experience in leadership roles within web-first or omnichannel retail. The ideal applicant also possesses exceptional leadership skills with a history of setting and achieving ambitions growth targets. 

A day on the job looks like this: 

  • Developing and executing strategies that enhance the performance and revenue of Lakeshore’s consumer-facing e-commerce sites 
  • Improving the feature set and user experience of the ePro customer-specific online shopping portal, catering to the needs of institutions such as Head Start, child care centers, schools and school districts 
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance physical store traffic such as “buy online, pick up in store” initiatives, aligning with the goal to synergize the online and offline shopping experiences 
  • Collaboratively setting the promotional calendar with the heads of Retail and Creative, aiming to maintain a balanced approach that allows flexibility for retail and e-commerce promotions withing overarching company parameters 
  • Providing change-management leadership as Lakeshore continues to experience growth 

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in leadership roles within web-first or omnichannel retail, demonstrating success in scaling digital operations in high-growth environments
  • 15 years of experience with a focus on growth marketing and a proven ability to use digital strategies to drive e-commerce success 
  • Known for developing creative and effective solutions to digital marketing and e-commerce challenges, with a knack for enhancing customer engagement and conversion 
  • Strong background in web product development, with the ability to navigate and lead technical discussions and decisions 
  • A results-driven approach, with a clear understanding of measuring impact of digital initiatives on business performance 
  • A commitment to aligning digital strategies with Lakeshore’s core values and mission, focusing on the customer experience

  • Salary: $400,000-$500,000 with an annual bonus of up to 25%
