JOB TITLE: Director of Operations - Food and Beverage (Local 11 Union Oversight) DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage REPORTS TO: Savor General Manager FLSA: Salary - Exempt RATE: $100K-$120K Summary: As the Director of Operations, you will provide comprehensive leadership in overseeing Food and Beverage operations at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, ensuring alignment with ASM Global | Savor standards and procedures. This role collaborates closely with the Savor General Manager in all operational areas as needed. Duties and Responsibilities: Review and optimize the F&B working plan for each event, including labor schedules, supply ordering, and menu planning. Implement operational changes to achieve desired goals while upholding quality and service standards. Address and resolve food quality and service complaints promptly. Monitor financial transactions and budget to ensure efficiency and compliance. Ensure compliance with Brand Standards. Direct and supervise training for all staff on Food and Beverage Standards. Oversee the budget for catering, concessions, and beverage operations. Manage food and beverage inventory control systems. Optimize vendor accounts for profitability and quality assurance. Resolve departmental issues, concerns, or complaints in a timely manner. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise 3 - 5 managers and the Union scheduling coordinator ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Conduct interviews, hiring, and training of employees. Plan, assign, and direct work for subordinates. Provide feedback, reward, and discipline employees as necessary. Address complaints and resolve problems effectively. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language, Mathematical, Reasoning Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Regularly required to stand and walk. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work environment may be loud. Other Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively, including locally, nationally, and internationally as required. Strong logistics and proposal development skills. Excellent organizational and planning abilities. Customer service-oriented with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. LEAD and Serve Safe certified. Forklift license and DMV clearance in compliance with Savor’s policies.
