The Medical Records Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, handling requests for medical records in compliance with HIPAA, and collaborating with other departments to ensure the timely and accurate management of medical records.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage and maintain patient medical records in both physical and electronic formats.
• Process requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of medical records before release.
• Assist in the digitization of paper records and the implementation of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless records management.
• Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Respond to queries and provide support to patients and healthcare providers regarding medical records.

Qualifications :

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, or a related field.
• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or similar is preferred.
• 2 years of experience in medical records management.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
