Hours of operations: VA Business Hours: Clinic Gastroenterological Services:

• Normal clinic hours are 8:00am – 4:30pm. Monday – Friday
•  Rotating weekends and holidays. Rotating weeks after normal working hours call coverage, 4:30pm – 7am

Duties:

• Provide comprehensive clinical Gastroenterology services including the diagnosis and treatment of Gastroenterology disease and surgical procedures.
• Perform endoscopic procedures in GI lab. Typical procedures include EGD, Colonoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound & ERCP’s.
• EGD with endoscopic ultrasound examination limited to the esophagus, stomach or duodenum and adjacent structures.
• EGD with biopsy
• EGD with band ligation of esophageal/gastric varices
• EGD with removal of foreign body 
• EGD with control of bleeding any method
• Colonoscopy, diagnostic
• Colonoscopy with biopsy
• Colonoscopy with removal of tumors, polyps or other lesions by snare technique
• Endoscopic Ultrasound and ERCPs
• Staffing and supervising GI fellows in endoscopy lab and inpatient consult service, supervising Fellows in gastroenterology clinic when required.

Qualifications:

• Meet all licensing/certification requirements to perform as a Gastroenterology Physician.
• Be Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Gastroenterology Standards.
• Have and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification.
• Meet the minimum standards for Continuing Medical Education (CME) to remain current.
• Provide a copy of a current DEA certificate.
• Provide an NPI number.
• Provide an AMBI certificate.
• Must be a US Citizen
• Have all immunizations required for Physicians
