Opal Foods is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Supervisor for our Litchfield, MN farm . This live production position is responsible for assisting the Production Manager with daily supervision of the barns and maintenance teams, while performing regular maintenance duties.

Will plan and supervise periodic equipment and system maintenance, preventative maintenance, maintenance projects, etc.

Position Responsibilities :

• Support and lead maintenance activities at the Complex according to good management practices with the objective to protect layer hens, prevent accidents and injuries, equipment and facility damage
• Supervise the daily / routine activities of the Maintenance team to ensure that farm maintenance, animal husbandry and care responsibilities are performed consistently and effectively by employees
• Troubleshoot as needed on all machinery and systems
• Perform high level maintenance on :
• egg conveyor system, including guides, savers, and belts
• ventilation system, including baffles, fans and controllers
• housing system, including water system, feeders and manure removal system
• Monitor and maintain water system, including water pumps and distribution equipment
• Monitor and complete checks on electrical systems and standby power units
• Provide training and coaching to Maintenance Techs and Animal Caretakers as their jobs relate to systems, cages and machinery
• Understand, train and monitor maintenance team to follow all SOP’s, GMP’s and all programs and procedures related to the job and required by the work
• Immediately report any concerns or problems to management
• Clean and maintain tool and supply inventories

• 3 years’ experience in maintenance in farm / agriculture setting
• Electrical experience
• Ability to work weekends as scheduled
• Ability to answer alarms on rotation within 15 minutes (need to be a local resident)
