GAI Consultants is seeking a CAD Operator candidate for support of Substation projects. This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services.

The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for various substations and / or protection and control engineering projects as well as project support working under engineering supervision.

Job Duties :

• Opening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files.
• Assist in compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
• Knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
• Advanced ISO view and 3-D view drawing depictions.
• Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills as required.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and / or intelligent design software (BIM) experience preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple software platforms including, but not limited to, advanced 3D modeling and intelligent design software.
• Attending project-specific meetings as required.
• Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected developments.
• Ability to work extended hours or after hours when required.
• Learning and helping to find ways to improve GAI Engineering CAD Standards.
• Effective communication with the project team.

Qualifications

Education Required

Technical / other training or better in Drafting or related field.

Experience Required

Less than 3 years : Experience as a CAD Operator
