Job Description

This position is responsible for coordinating with the Goodfellow Management and our partners to create a safety-first culture through continuous improvement, training, safety policies and compliance with all OSHA /MSHA/DOT regulations.

Essential Functions

• Develop and communicate all safety programs per OSHA/MSHA/DOT requirements (developing and implementing will happen with the Human Resources manager and Crest Safety employees help).
• Identify, obtain and distribute company safety training programs.
• Assist in the ongoing coaching and mentoring of employees and supervisor/managers regarding safety to ensure consistency in training and documentation (you will send safety trainings using the Risk Management website and coordinate with Crest Insurance for in person trainings).
• Facilitate monthly safety meetings.
• Collecting all information from all accident and near-miss investigations from the GM's to ensure that a root cause is identified and all action items are completed.
• Maintain and complete all OSHA/MSHA/DOT regulator recording and reporting (you will track our status and submit the OSHA300 logs).
• Monitor, update and keep Goodfellow in compliance with our third party compliance vendors(Avetta, ISNetwork, etc...).
• Work closely with the Human Resources Department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience working in a safety department, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry
• Must be willing to travel (we anticipate up to 5 times a year for 2-4 days)
• Possess a valid driver license
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to write reports
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Must possess a general understanding with reference to federal, state and local safety rules, regulations and reporting processes and procedures related to construction or the manufacturing industry

• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal skills are necessary; ability to interact and with all employees of the company at field sites and offices as well as with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in short time frames
