Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients. Duties:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' health status
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions and treatment plans
- Assist with procedures such as cardiac catheterization and ambulatory surgery center operations
- Utilize electronic medical record systems, such as Cerner, to document patient information accurately
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Skills:
- Proficient in ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations for appropriate reporting and documentation
- Experience in trauma medicine to provide immediate care for critically ill or injured patients
- Ability to provide specialized care for infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
- Strong assessment skills to monitor patients' conditions and detect any changes or complications
- Competency in medication administration, including dosage calculations and proper administration techniques
- Familiarity with cardiac catheterization procedures to assist during diagnostic or interventional procedures
- Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center setting, ensuring efficient patient flow and coordination of care
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Ohio
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical/surgical setting
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
