As the Workers’ Compensation Analyst, you will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, disposition, and administration of workers' compensation medical and indemnity claims. Work with the Third Party Administrator (TPA)/Carrier on the management of claims within assigned states; initiate and ensure continual communication with the injured associate, leadership, and medical providers (with a focus on timely and meaningful exchanges of information); coordinate and monitor return to work efforts to ensure compliance with work restrictions and alternate duty assignments; monitor reserves; and successfully take claims to final resolution. To excel in this role, you must have strong interpersonal and conflict-management skills. Exercise proper judgment and decision making to analyze exposure and determine proper course of action needed to resolve claims. Explain workers' compensation benefits and procedures to affected associates and Service Center leadership. Interact extensively with various parties involved in the claim handling process. Utilize critical thinking and solid judgment to solve problems, make decisions, and resolve complex issues inherent in handling losses, as well as plan and organize activities throughout the claim handling process. Document and communicate all claim activities timely, effectively, and in a manner that supports the appropriate outcome. Monitor reserve adequacy on case files and initiate reserve increases and decreases as required. Handle claims in a manner that is consistent with corporate culture, policies, procedures, best practices, and in accordance with any statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements. Responsible for making decisions regarding setting case reserves, settlement of claims within designated authority, and directing the TPA. Responsible for selecting and approving the use and payment of specific vendors that might be utilized within the context of handling a workers' compensation claim (e.g. medical providers, private investigators, vocational experts, etc.). Interact with department heads, Service Center Managers and leaders, TPA provider, and vendors, including attorneys, investigators, medical providers, etc. For this role, we require: a minimum of 5 years of claims handling experience with a High School Diploma; a minimum of 1 year of claims handling experience with a post-secondary degree; and a High School Diploma or GED. We prefer you to have 10 years of claims handling experience with a High School Diploma; 5 years of claims handling experience with a post-secondary degree; and an Associate or Bachelor's Degree. Must be a licensed adjuster with the ability to obtain licenses in other states where the Company has operations, as required.
