SummaryThe EHS&S Manager will provide full-time environmental, health, safety, and security support to the Company. This includes development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of EHS&S systems and procedures aimed at prevention of accidents, environmental incidents, and security threats. This individual will also work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Essential DutiesDevelops and assists with implementation of EHS&S policies, programs, and processes for all employees to minimize safety, environmental, health hazards, and maintain site security.
Assists with the site's environmental permit applications and reports in compliance with relevant regulatory programs (air, water, and waste)
Maintains all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
Provides daily guidance and direction in EHS&S programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
Assists in the identification of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness.
Ensures that contractor personnel working on the property are following the Company’s policies and safety procedures.
Maintains and updates SOP’s, as needed, for all safe work practices and equipment and utilizes them in day-to-day operations.
Performs and contributes to the Site Training Plans by conducting employee orientations; emergency response training; and coordination of modular training programs for the Company.
Ensures routine safety and environmental inspections are conducted and deficiencies are corrected.
Ensures inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies are corrected.
Assists with maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.
Reviews accidents and incidents which occur and ensures appropriate reporting and completion of corrective actions.
Maintains records regarding worker training and safety.
Maintains working relationships with Regulatory Agencies.
Manages Team Based Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis as needed.
Leads the Emergency Response Team and chairs or co-chairs the Safety Committee for the Company.
Maintain and provide training on the policies and procedures for Site Security (Video Surveillance, Badges and Access Controls, Alarm Systems, and Physical Keys), including Visitor Check-in / Check-out Log, contractor escorts, and security forms.
The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Associate or bachelor’s degree with 5 years related industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
A minimum of five years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role.
A minimum of five years’ total in industry or Contract Manufacturing Operation (CMO) would be a plus.
OSHA 10hr or 30hr certification preferred.
Computer skills (e.g. MS Office including Excel, Word and Project) are essential.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Work a normal day shift Monday through Friday. Work some weekends and extra hours as required in support of operational commitments.
