Midwest Land Group is one of the fastest growing land real estate brokerages in the United States. Based out of Leawood, Kansas, we are rapidly expanding across a twelve state region including Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Our business model focuses on connecting buyers and sellers of land real estate - primarily hunting land, farmland, ranches, recreational properties, and investment properties. 

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and professional Senior Bookkeeper to handle the day-to-day accounting activity for Midwest Land Group.

This is a full-time position that will be based out of our office in Leawood, KS.

This position will report directly to the COO/CFO.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping tasks and entries in Quickbooks Online
• Calculate commission splits on transactions and set up ACH payments to agents
• Prepare and review staff payroll
• Coordinate tax payments with proper taxing agencies
• Maintain supporting Balance Sheet schedules, such as Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, etc.
• Complete the full cycle duties for A/R and A/P
• Maintain inventory of promotional goods
• Reconcile accounting entries with operational data 
• Continuously identify best practices and opportunities to further improve our accounting processes

Desired Skills & Experience

• Expert level experience with Quickbooks Online
• Proficient with advanced features of Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel
• Extremely high attention to detail balanced with a sense of urgency
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects at the same time
