Summit Spine and Joint Centers is Hiring a Surgery Coordinator Near Lawrenceville, GA
- Pull EMR reports and input data into excel sheets, tracking individuals where a complex procedure has been ordered by a physician
- Communicating patient financial responsibilities for procedures
- Answering basic patient inquiries related to procedures
- Coordinate psych evals for patients where physicians have ordered a complex surgical procedure, upload psych eval results to EMR
- Acquiring prior authorizations from all insurance payors (CMS, United, BCBS, Aetna, Humana, WellCare, Tricare, Workman’s comp, PI, etc.) including pulling and transmitting relevant medical records
- Work any initial authorization denials, coordinating peer-to-peers, appeal letters, etc.
- Add patients to surgery schedule within EMR (eClinicalWorks)
- Communicate with all relevant team members / stakeholders about approved and scheduled procedures, including notating status updates within EMR and excel tracking sheets
- Coordinate process if patients need any replacement equipment for stimulators
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to HIPAA
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Strong interpersonal skills when working with patients
- Strong written communication skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD.10 coding, and medical pre-certification and prior authorization protocols
- Experience using eClinical Works required
- Minimum 1-year healthcare experience required, experience in Pain Management preferred
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
