This candidate will perform the following essential duties & responsibilities:
- Receive incoming bulk ingredients, ensuring proper receiving procedures are followed. Test bulk ingredients for compliance to specification requirements.
- Collect samples and test selected incoming ingredients for compliance to specification requirements.
- Ensure that all laboratory equipment including ovens, mixers, and other testing equipment are working properly. Notify quality management of any potential or actual issues.
- Perform line checks on production lines in the Bakery and Frozen/Wet Departments to ensure all food safety and food quality parameters are met.
- Perform quality checks on samples collected from the Bakery and Frozen/Wet Departments to ensure all performance and organoleptic parameters are met.
- Collect samples and test each batch of Dry Department products to ensure all performance and organoleptic parameters are met.
- Collect samples, test ingredients, and finished products that have been placed on Hold or otherwise do not meet customer or company requirements.
- Release products from each manufacturing department based on compliance to customer and company requirements.
- Notify quality management as soon as possible of observed conditions, ingredients, or products that may not meet food safety, food quality or customer or company requirements.
- Complete all records accurately, legibly and on a timely basis.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager or Director of R&D and Quality Assurance.
- Laboratory or quality assurance background within the food manufacturing industry.
- 1 to 2 years’ baking experience.
- Ability to use standard laboratory equipment such as refractor, pH meter, ROTAP.
- Basic math skills, computer skills coupled with strong organizational skills.
- Can lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete floor for prolonged periods
- Frequent bending, lifting and twisting for extended periods of time
- Wear proper personal protective equipment when necessary (hair net, beard net, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)
Schedule: Mon-Fri 1st Shift: 4am-12:30pm
Mon-Fri 2nd Shift: 2:30pm – 11:00pm
Pay: $21-22.00
