Client is expecting candidates with technical degree or polymer laboratory experience. Pitt State (technical school) has polymer technician degrees.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Testing and characterization of new materials and designs.
2. Set up and maintain test facilities (6S)
3. Assist research and development efforts as needed.
4. Comply with applicable company policies, including personnel, quality system and health, safety and environment standards and procedures.
5. Wear required PPE and observe health, safety, and environmental policies.
6. Successfully complete required safety training (including but not limited to drugs and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving).
Employees may be assigned other duties in addition to or in lieu of those described above, and any duties are subject to change at any time according to the needs of the location or Company.
TOOLS:
1. Hand tools (punch dies, mallet, wrenches, screwdrivers etc)
2. Basic power tools (drills, mixers, power saws, belt sanders)
3. Megger / HIPot / AC breakdown and other electrical test equipment
4. Analytical balances
5. Standard laboratory glassware
6. Thermal analysis equipment – DSC, TGA, DMA, TMA, etc.
7. Miscellaneous testing equipment as needed
8. Thermoset and Rubber mixing/milling equipment – Banbury, two roll mill, Flacktek and Ross mixers, etc.
9. Rubber molding (compression press)
10. Computers.
11. Rheology testing instruments.
